We are currently partnered with a $10B+ Quant Hedge Fund looking to expand their hedge fund analytics function by bringing on a Business Intelligence Analyst to cover the Equity and Fixed Income trading businesses. The Business Intelligence Analyst to support our Equity and Fixed Income Trading business. This role is pivotal in providing actionable insights and data-driven solutions to enhance trading strategies and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical skills and expertise in data visualization to craft dynamic dashboards, perform ad-hoc analyses, and optimize trading activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Insights:
- Analyze trading activity across equity and fixed-income markets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities.
- Prepare detailed reports on trading performance, market behavior, and execution costs.
Dashboard Development:
- Design and maintain dynamic dashboards to visualize trading metrics, market data, and portfolio performance.
- Ensure dashboards provide real-time, actionable insights tailored to the needs of traders and portfolio managers.
Ad-Hoc Analysis:
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to address specific queries from traders and portfolio managers.
- Provide quick and accurate data-driven answers to support decision-making.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Communicate findings effectively through visualizations and presentations.
Data Management:
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing robust data quality checks.
- Partner with technology teams to optimize data pipelines and storage for analytics purposes.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role within financial services, particularly in trading or investment management.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, data science, computer science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of trading and investment principles, with a strong understanding of equity and fixed-income markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
