Scope of Work/Job Characteristics
The Reports Developer will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and overseeing BI tools with a comprehensive understanding of the BI system.
- Transforming substantial volumes of transactional and historical data into actionable insights through user-friendly, interactive dashboards and reports.
- Designing and implementing scalable solutions to address evolving business needs in the IT landscape.
- Collaborating with business users to understand data needs, translating them into technical specifications, and prioritizing reporting requirements.
- Extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources (File servers, RDBMS, APIs) into Power BI data models, utilizing DAX to create meaningful metrics and KPIs.
- Designing visually appealing dashboards and reports with intuitive navigation.
- Ensuring clear data presentation at both the summary and detailed levels.
- Presenting findings and recommendations through reports, presentations, and other communication channels.
- Performing data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
- Optimizing reports for fast loading times and scalability to handle large datasets.
- Training end-users on application navigation and interpreting reports effectively.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of data models, business logic, and user guides.
Note: This position may require reporting for duty during emergencies or potential emergencies.

Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- A minimum of three years of IT experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
- Proficiency in BI features, including data modeling, DAX calculations, visualizations, and report design.
- Strong SQL querying skills.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and interpret data for actionable insights.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI – PL 300, Oracle BI, Certified Business Intelligence Professional).
- Experience executing DAX queries on the Power BI desktop.
