  • BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER - CASH MANAGEMENT JOB SUMMARY
    • The Business Office Manager - Cash Management is responsible for the daily management of insurance and patient payment processing, cash deposits, and reconciliation for the centralized business office which services the hospital, physician group, transitional care, durable medical equipment, home health, and hospice. Provides direct supervision to staff, including assigning work priorities, completing performance appraisals, providing required training and development, implementing departmental policies and procedures, and staff relief as needed.
  • BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER - CASH MANAGEMENT JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    • Education and/or experience: Associate's degree or equivalent business, accounting/finance, or related field experience required. Must have at least two (2) years previous management/supervisory experience in the same or similar role or three (3) years progressive experience in cash posting and reconciliation, bookkeeping, accounting, or similar roles. Experience with McKesson Paragon, McKessoon Horizon Patient/Business Folder, NextGen, Point Click Care, Brightree, Experian PaymentSafe, or similar systems preferred.
    • Knowledge: Requires in-depth knowledge of cash posting/reconciliation principles and controls, and basic accounting as well as impact of cash management function on accounts receivable management. Must have a detailed understanding of third party payment and reimbursement guidelines in addition to compliance and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPS, False Claims Act, and coordination of insurance benefits, for areas of responsibility, Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures for managing systems, files and records; principles of excellent customer service and quality improvement processes are essential.
    • Skills: Requires strong customer service orientation, good analytical and organization skills, including attention to detail, problem solving, time management, and leadership. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. A high aptitude for math, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and decision making skills are essential. Project management skills preferred.
    • Abilities: Requires ability to plan, schedule , and delegate work. Must be able to clearly communicate policies and practices; coach, educate, train and evaluate employees; analyze information and evaluate results to ensure all payments have been accounted for and applied as necessary; motivate team members; work both independently and cooperatively to effectively lead a team; and use relevant information and individual judgment to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Must have the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner; complete tasks on time; be dependable, self motivated, and adaptable.
