Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Business Office ClerkDate Posted: 9/26/2024Location: North Street Professional BuildingDate Available: Open Until FilledDistrict: Shiawassee RESD - websiteTitle: BUSINESS OFFICE SPECIALIST - AP/AR - FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS Salary Range $44,601 - $48,480 Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Services / CFO the Business Office Specialist will be responsible to provide support to the Director of Business Services / CFO and business o?ce sta? for the district's ?nancial management and orderly functioning of sta? employment and bene?ts. Maintains communication with sta? serving Shiawassee RESD. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience and competency in school ?nance (or equivalent) preferred.
  • MSBO certi?cation is also preferred.
General Job Responsibilities
  • Payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, internal controls, business services to RESD sta? and partners.
  • Invoicing various agencies for services rendered (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Ability to communicate and work e?ectively with the RESD professional and support sta?, community members, municipal agencies and other organizations as required.
  • Assist with the Property Tax collection
  • Assist with the accounting system and internal controls of the district
  • Assist with Reconciliation of bank accounts and investments
  • Assist with Purchase order process
  • Assist with chart of accounts, year end and new year processes
  • Assist with ?nancial reports as requested by appropriate agencies and individuals
  • Assist with Medicaid reporting
  • Other duties related to Business Office requirements as assigned by Director of Business Services / CFO
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Manages complex relationships. Overall community or sta? relations are impacted to a marked degree, a?ecting the operating results and the reputation of Shiawassee RESD.
  • Accuracy with ?gures and ability to analyze, communicate and explain ?nancial data and reports to non-?nancial personnel.
  • Considerable knowledge of district programs and reports.
  • Considerable knowledge of district policies and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of sta? duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of computers, computer systems and software.
  • Knowledge of telephone and communication etiquette.
  • Ability to assemble data and prepare accurate reports and records.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work e?ectively with the sta?, professionals, and the public.
  • Ability to process information and communicate well.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
