Location: Norfolk,VA, USA
The Business Operations Analyst would work primarily in office Monday through Friday reporting to the Data Analytics Manager and working closely with the Director of Planning, Purchasing and Logistics. The Business Operations Analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining visuals in DOMO which allow data-driven decisions to be made throughout Bauer processes. They would be expected to give creative solutions to data problems through BI Software and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) work. The Business Operations Analyst would also play a key role in maintaining existing visualizations, scripts, and initiatives by updating documentation and visualizations to represent current procedures while upholding the data governance standards and procedures.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Day to day assignments will include the following, other functions may be assigned when needed:
* Utilize the BI tool DOMO to generate dynamic dashboards for decision-making tools.
* Create ETLs with data from various sources (Excel, SQL Databases, Compressors, Website data collection, Microsoft Access).
* Translate data into creative, user friendly solutions for employees of all levels.
* Maintain and update Python scripts as needed.
* Create and maintain SQL queries to move data into our BI Software
* Participate in continual improvement projects across all data functions.
* Work cohesively with other functional areas such as Web Developers, IT, Database Administration, Logistics and so on to execute analytical aspects of major projects.
* Generate ad hoc reports when necessary.
* Lead the creation and execution of data projects.
* Resolve issues and bugs in existing ETLs and visualizations.
* Research solutions for data problems and projects.
* Aid in maintaining & cleaning up the data warehouse in our BI tool.
* Aid in maintaining & cleaning up the Domo Workbench SQL Queries.
* Serve as a member of the Data Governance committee to ensure data standards are met.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Education: Bachelor's degree Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Operations, Computer Science, or related field
OR
Work Experience covering two (2) plus years of relevant experience which would provide the required knowledge and skills and allow successful performance of the job.
* Experience in SQL (Intermediate+).
* Experience in Python (Beginner+) and/or R programming (Beginner+)
* Experience in BI software's such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Domo, or similar software.
* Microsoft office platform including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Be able to multitask and prioritize deliverables in a fast-paced environment while maintaining product quality.
* Self-starter who is both results and detailed oriented
* Communicates both verbally and written in a clear and effective manner to all levels of employees and leadership.
* Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
