Job Description:

The Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau is seeking a Business Operations Assistant to provide administrative and other support to the team. This position will also support PRH authors as needed (serving as point person for questions). The Business Operations Assistant will be a detail-oriented self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities:

  • Submit billings and payments for speakers bureau events in a timely manner, including post event travel administrative support and addressing speakers bureau billing issues as they arise.
  • Support speakers bureau authors with financial paperwork and documentation (tax forms, ACH paperwork, etc)
  • Initiates and tracks SAP payment details, including all speakers bureau billings and payables
  • Creates vendor and account numbers on a per author and event basis, troubleshoot items with Bertelsmann Accounting as needed, and more.
  • Regularly attend meetings with the speakers bureau team and communicate with our authors about any necessary issues.
  • Requirements:
    • Highly organized with superb attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Able to learn new systems as needed.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior office experience
    • SAP Proficiency
    • General interest in Finance/Accounting and in Publishing
    The salary for this position is $48,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
