At Battle Road, we're a growing company that's building the future of simulations, modeling, and operations with AtomEngine – our proprietary cloud-based game engine. As we scale, we're looking for an organized and proactive Business Operations Manager to support our team by managing HR administration, payroll processes, accounts receivable, and acting as a main point of contact for external partners. Position Summary

As Business Operations Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and oversee employee onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits enrollment and administration, and accounts receivable. You'll act as the key liaison with ADP TotalSource for U.S. compliance and HR support, Deel for our international EOR team members, and our external accounting firm for bookkeeping, financial reporting, and accounts payable. Additionally, you'll manage employee reimbursements, monitor company finances, support annual account renewals, and help plan sales and company events. You'll also be a key player in building team culture and engagement in our fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration

  • Oversee onboarding for U.S. and international employees, including offer letters, benefits enrollment, and account creation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ADP TotalSource (U.S. PEO partner) and Deel (international EOR employees and contractors).
  • Manage hiring and recruiting processes, including posting job openings and coordinating interviews.
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment, collaborating with ADP TotalSource and insurance brokers.
  • Develop and maintain holiday calendars and PTO policies.

Payroll Coordination

  • Work with ADP TotalSource to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. employees.
  • Coordinate with Deel to ensure accurate payroll and compliance for international employees and contractors.
  • Track PTO accruals, manage benefits deductions, and address payroll-related questions.

Finance Support

  • Act as the primary liaison with the external accounting firm, ensuring they have all necessary data for monthly QuickBooks reconciliation, accounts payable, and annual taxes.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including client invoicing, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Oversee employee reimbursements, ensuring accurate tracking and timely payments.
  • Monitor and manage company accounts bank accounts to ensure accuracy and manage balances.

Event & Compliance Support

  • Assist with partner renewals and ensure all registrations remain current.
  • Support the preparation and execution of sales and company events, including logistics coordination, vendor management, and asset tracking.

Team Engagement & Culture

  • Develop creative holiday celebrations, virtual activities, and initiatives to foster team connection and engagement in a fully remote environment.
  • Support leadership in building an inclusive, fun, and collaborative team culture.
  • Plan and coordinate remote-friendly team-building events, games, or activities.

Administrative Operations

  • Track hardware/asset assignments.
  • Support leadership with ad-hoc operational tasks and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in HR administration, payroll coordination, accounts receivable, or operations.
  • Experience working with external HR, payroll, or accounting vendors.
  • Familiarity with platforms like ADP, Deel, QuickBooks, and/ or similar tools.
  • Experience managing employee reimbursements and accounts receivable.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete and pass employee background checks.
  • Experience with reviewing and editing contracts and agreements.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
  • Spanish language skills
  • An interest in video games or experience in game-related industries.

Physical Work Requirements

  • Ability to sit, operate a computer, and phone for extended periods.
