**TITLE:** Business Operations Support Specialist
**SUMMARY:**
The Business Operations Support Specialist will undertake a variety of operational support activities in addition to customer, administrative, and office support tasks.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* General business operations support, including but not limited to:
* Accept, route, and or initiate business-related communication (e.g., telephone, email, web, etc.)
* Prepare for business events including as needed purchase materials, finding and book lodging or event space, order food/refreshments, etc.
* Attend some business events as a representative of the company (rarely)
* Agile software development process support
* Given a list of requirements and constraints, assist in identifying, selecting, and managing vendors for business-related purchases (e.g., holiday gifts for customers, event materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.)
* Data entry
* Inventory, order, and keep organized office supplies and other business-related items
* Vet and greet visitors to the main FrontEdge Inc. offices in Rochester, NY
* Create, populate, and maintain contact lists for business communication
* Help to create, document, review, internally communicate/train-on, and maintain internal operational processes and procedures
* Generate, receive and maintain confidential and sensitive files, information, reports, etc. and ensure security of all such items.
* Tier 0 and 1 Customer Support
* Simple software testing/quality assurance and issue reproduction
* Customer support, including respond to customer support requests (telephone and email), and/or route customer support requests to appropriate resources in the company, and/or manage open customer support requests to completion.
* Assist members of internal Customer Support and the Solution Architecture teams (i.e., the Software Deployment team)
* Data clean-up, data entry, and document parsing
* Knowledge Base article management
* Help manage customers digital content
* Business Writing, including but not limited to:
* Create and distribute written business communications for various audiences using content inputs from coworkers (e.g., release notes, event announcements, maintenance notifications, RFP responses, statements of work, knowledge base articles, etc.)
* Help manage the content on our public websites and social media
* Proof-read and recommend corrections/improvements to print and digital materials
**SKILLS, TRAITS, & EXPERIENCE**
Required:
* Comfort and confidence using a desktop/laptop computer and associated hardware (e.g., printers, scanners, monitors, etc.)
* Ability/willingness to work from the FrontEdge office in Rochester NY
* Excellent professional communication skills
* Effectively communicate and interact with persons of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
* Basic Microsoft Office app skills and experience Also, willingness to learn new apps, as needed
* Excellent writing skills
* Comfort with learning and doing new things
* Flexibility and willingness to proactively offer help to coworkers (especially on the Support and Solution Architecture teams) whenever you have availability
* Comfort working independently and requesting help/direction when necessary
* Clean background check
* Because FrontEdge customers are primarily educational institutions defined by the CDC as high risk settings, full Covid-19 vaccination is required.
Nice to Have:
* Experience with MailChimp, HappyFox, and/or Squarespace
* Experience preparing for and/or attending corporate events
* Experience/familiarity with working in an Agile Software Development organization
* Experience posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platformsespecially for business
* Experience researching products online
* Awareness of information protection and privacy laws related to public K-12 education
* Experience writing how-to articles, technical writing
* Experience providing remote support to customers and remotely collaborating with coworkers

* Essential and other important functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time.
* Periodic/rare (NY-State only) travel *may* be required
