Description/Deliverables
- The Department's OIT is seeking the services of six (6) experienced Business Process Consultants. The Candidates will be required to successfully complete tasks in relation to the Scope of Work defined in
Scope of Work/Job Characteristics
- The Business Process Consultants will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Perform in-depth systems process analysis, and design and simulate new processes to improve efficiency.
- Identify gaps in processes, develop measures for process performance, and transition to improved practices in the program area.
- Serve as the program areas technical expert by providing strategic guidance to leadership on the future use of technology and process improvements.
- Ensure solutions align with both current and future program goals.
- Assist in the planning and prioritization of business process engineering activities.
- Integrate business unit goals with department objectives; and
- Ensure defined processes are communicated and provide assistance to businesses to understand process flows.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:
- Minimum of seven (7) years in IT, with at least four (4) years in process engineering and two (2) years in project management.
- Certification in Process Improvement Methodologies and demonstrated proficiency in methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen, including a certification such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Strong skills in mapping out business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and analyzing inefficiencies.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or specialized business process modeling tools (e.g., Business Process Model and Notation [BPMN] software like Bizagi or ARIS);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; and
- Proven leadership and motivational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- The Department prefers the Candidates to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:
- Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to the corrections industry (e.g., The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 [HIPAA], Criminal Justice Information Services [CJIS]security standards, etc.); and
- Experience in designing processes that comply to industry-specific standards
