Business and Auxiliary Services is a department within Business Affairs/Business Services that provides the university with a variety of business enterprises and operations including; Parking and Transportation, ONE Card/ID Card operations, Trademark and Licensing program, Vending, Barnes and Noble - contract bookstore operations, along with Dining Services & Catering- contract food service through Aramark.

Location of Workplace Main UNCW Campus Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The position provides accounting, financial, and operational support for Business Services and Auxiliary Services.

* Ensures that Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are followed for all AP/AR disbursements, journal entries, and other financial transactions. Department accounting liaison and purchasing agent. Completes external invoicing, decentralized billing, and IDIs for departments.

* Extracts financial reports and routinely prepares vendor POs and payments per contract terms for all departments.

* Reconciles NC Sales Tax generated by One Card accounts, including Seahawk Bucks, Pepsi, Gilly, Aramark, and Barnes and Noble and sends North Carolina sales tax classification report to the UNCW Tax Compliance Officer.

* Reconciles monthly Seahawk Bucks, Faculty and Staff meal plan purchases, Food dollars, and Bookstore dollars

* Processes feeds to Student Accounts for First-Day complete (Bookstore program).

* Monitors Food Services Invoicing mailbox and prepares monthly dining services advances, weekly catering payments, and tracks alcohol invoices per Food Services' guidelines.

* Completes annual membership registrations for the department.

* Supports all areas of the department in uShop, researches potential expenditures and purchasing planning for departments.

* May serve as a back up for parking event billing and service and departmental vehicle permit billing

* May serve as a back up for deposits

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

* Four year degree in Business Administration, Financial Services or related field.

* Two years of related accounting and office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

* Working knowledge of UNC and UNCW policies and procedures.

* Knowledge of Banner Finance and/or Banner Student Account system.
