Job Summary

Under administrative direction, the Business Services Technician is responsible for a variety of financial record-keeping tasks in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions. The role involves managing district directives and administrative services, requiring discretion, independent judgment, and the ability to multitask. The Technician maintains a positive and supportive attitude to facilitate communication between the district office, schools, state and local agencies, and the general public. Additional duties are assigned by the Superintendent or Business Manager. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Reconcile Bank account and manage the District Office Revolving Account, including processing reimbursement. Prepare purchase orders and obtain necessary approvals according to established guidelines. Audit pay requests and verifies receipt of service or product as per purchase contract. Prepare and process vendor warrants in accord with District policy and contracts. Organize and maintain comprehensive vendor payment records. Review accounts receivable items, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare customer invoices. Log cash receipts and payments for deposit. Handle NSF/returned checks as necessary. Coordinate staff requests for conferences and travel. Prepare and submit annual 1099 and Use Tax Reporting. District Office Receptionist/Support and Other Duties as Assigned: Accurately input and update data in various databases and spreadsheets. Order supplies for the District Office. Distribute mail to school sites, NCSOS, and the District Office. Prepare Reasonable Assurance Letters. Monitor safety procedures annually. Distribute payroll warrants. Greet members of the public in a warm and inclusive manner. Employees: Prepare Employee Letters of Intent. Coordinate employment interview. Administer Public School Works. Process field trip bus requests. Handle volunteer paperwork. Conduct TB and CPR coordination/compliance

Requirements / Qualifications

Required Education/Training/Experience: High School graduate, or equivalent. Two years college with business courses, business school, or community college background. Adequate experience may be substituted for education requirements at the Superintendent's discretion. Minimum of three (3) years of office experience (desired). Two (2) years school-related experience preferred, but comparable experience is acceptable.
