The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Aging Services (DAS) is seeking candidates for the position of Business Support Analyst 2 (Operations Analyst). This position is located in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.JOIN OUR TEAM!!!Pay Grade: KUnder general supervision, performs complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area. Identifies trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. May partner with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues. Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment. May administer or provide high level support for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or any specialized functions. Assists with orientation, training, or providing task guidance of junior team members.Role and Responsibilities:Initiate, execute and evaluate analytical activities across all DAS programs.Conduct data analysis, disseminate findings, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.Analyze business requirements and propose effective and user-friendly solutions to business stakeholders.Consult with technical staff as needed to ensure functionality of automated system is consistent with laws, regulations and best practice standards; ensures that users adhere to relevant laws, regulations and best practice standards.Document, review and revise all required business processes annually.Participate in establishment of standards and procedures to be used in ongoing development and enhancement of data system.Assist with report development and data extraction from data system for program management.Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Analyze national Census data that supply the official population and other statistics related to aging and disabled individuals.Core Competencies:Ability to manage and manipulate data sets.Ability to work effectively with a diverse project team in a highly visible, fast-paced and changing project environment with aggressive timelines.Ability to work effectively with personnel at multiple levels of the organization.Ability to work effectively as a dedicated team member; ability to effectively and accurately communicate with other team members.Ability to effectively manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong analytical skills.Demonstrated performance as a self-motivated and goal-oriented professional who is able to work with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment and keep critical systems operational.Minimum Qualifications:Associate degree in communication, English, or public relations from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience related to area of assignment;OROne (1) year of experience required at the lower level Business Support Analyst 1 (GSP130).Preferred Skills/Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an approved, accredited college or university and one (1) year related work experience.Course of study or work experience that includes practical use of data and statistical analysis is highly desirable.Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) language and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Report Builder software, Tableau, and SharePoint.Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.For more detailed information about the Georgia Department of Human Services:InformationCurrent State employees are subject to State Personnel Board (SPB) Rules regarding salary.DHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.If you require accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), email request by the closing date of this announcement to: HRHelpline.The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening, education verification, reference, motor vehicle records, and criminal background checks.DHS accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
