BUSINESSMAP TOOL ADMINISTRATOR - FLEXIBLE REMOTE LOCATION (PREFERRED-AUSTIN, MN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Businessmap Tool Administrator is a steward of Enterprise Project Planning (EPP). The role is responsible for the effective management and maintenance of our organization's workflow tool, Businessmap and the application of the underlying process, the Kanban Method. This role will ensure that the tool and process are utilized efficiently to support business processes, data analysis, and decision-making. The administrator will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

  • Technical Responsibilities (50%) Businessmap Tool
    • Administer and manage workspaces, boards, workflows, permissions, and users, including external plug-ins and business rule modifications. Oversee board and workspace migration, integration, and consolidation while ensuring organizational consistency and handling provisioning and access.
    • Provide general and technical support for the Businessmap tool, troubleshooting issues as needed, and managing user permissions across teams. Serve as the main point of contact for Businessmap users and lead a group of power users.
    • Expertly manage Businessmap filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, and custom fields, while testing compatibility with new versions, integrations, and plug-ins. Utilize industry-standard methods for system optimization.
    • Analyze and document current system functionality for improvements, while effectively communicating insights with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Manage incident ticket data for reporting and analytics, while creating and maintaining dashboards and reports.
    • Enhance Businessmap security by setting access permissions for boards and workspaces, and coordinate with Businessmap to align feature understanding and development with the product roadmap. Oversee governance to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Process Responsibilities (50%) - Kanban Method Implementation and Management
    • For Teams: Provide guidance and coaching on Kanban practices tailored to various maturity levels, applying expertise from team to program and portfolio levels. Steward backlog standards to ensure reliable data for decision-making, guide teams in creating clear policies, and introduce new practices to support their maturity journey.
    • For the Organization: Partner with planning and delivery leads at Hormel Foods to ensure full integration of the work delivery pipeline, applying change management expertise to drive organizational evolution. Provide tailored coaching, mentoring, and facilitation, while clearly explaining complex processes to diverse audiences. Collaborate across disciplines and organizational hierarchy to address gaps in the EPP process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience with the Kanban Maturity Model and its application to workflow management.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify gaps and develop plans for achieving objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills for instilling trust, motivating and guiding teams.
  • Understand and meet the needs of a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Act with minimal direction both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with developing, launching, documenting, and maintaining complex business processes within a large ($5 billion+) enterprise.
  • Experience with other continuous improvement or Agile methods such as Scrum, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
  • Project management expertise.

The base pay range is $22.00 to $35.00 per hour; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
