Job Description:
A private household in Monroe, NY, is seeking a versatile and personable Butler to provide all-around assistance in managing the household, food and beverage service, and supporting various daily tasks. The role is ideal for a hospitality-minded individual with a blend of hands-on service, house management skills, and the ability to assist with some personal assistant duties. This is a live-out position in a dynamic, growing household where professionalism and discretion are key, but the environment is relaxed and not overly formal. The position is full-time, 5 days flexible, with the flexibility to work longer hours and weekends when needed. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, adaptable, and organized with a “no task too big or too small” attitude.
Requirements:
- Strong command of the English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent references from current and/or previous employers
- Minimum 5+ years related experience working in private residences
- Must be flexible with schedule
- Must have strong time management, punctuality, and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge and comfort with both casual and formal dining service
- Physical ability to be on your feet and incorporate extended hours
- Positive, warm, fun, with a supportive personality
- Ability to recognize and act on all home related and service needs
- Professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Legally able to work in the United States
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administering all elements of hospitality, food, and beverage service within the residence daily
- Management of wine cellar
- Hands-on service in all elements of hospitality, in conjunction with additional members of the household staff such as housekeepers
- Personal shopping, running errands, and concierge work as needed and upon request
- Assisting with lunch/dinner parties/events and setup, plus any additional requests from the family
- Formal and informal dinner and drink service
- Greeting guests
- Light general housekeeping when needed
- Manage outside contractors
- Additional Butler/Server roles and responsibilities as needed and requested by principals
