We are currently partnered with a $10B+ credit fund looking expand their Valuations Group by bringing on an Analyst. This firm is know for having an entrepreneurial culture and allowing employees to have great deal of ownership over their work.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in valuations, particularly in the areas of residential and commercial real estate mortgage loans, consumer lending, capital markets, private structured debt, and asset-backed bond products. You will be responsible for conducting independent price verification to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our valuation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independent Price Verification: Conduct thorough and independent price verification of various financial products including residential and commercial real estate mortgage loans, consumer lending, capital markets, private structured debt, and asset-backed bond products.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform valuation assessments and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Data Analysis: Analyze market data, historical trends, and other relevant factors to assess the accuracy of valuation models and methodologies.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential valuation risks and propose solutions to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports documenting valuation assessments, methodologies, and findings. Communicate findings effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, portfolio management, and investment teams to ensure alignment on valuation processes and methodologies.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and enhance valuation processes and methodologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree or CFA designation is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in valuations, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of valuation principles and methodologies, particularly in residential and commercial real estate mortgage loans, consumer lending, capital markets, private structured debt, and asset-backed bond products.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, and SQL.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing valuation practices is desirable.
