Job Title: Buyer (Sourcing)

Location: San Antonio, TX

General Purpose:

We are seeking a Sourcing Buyer to join our team. They will be responsible for sourcing bills of material while ensuring a comprehensive understanding of total costs and best value. This role emphasizes developing suppliers to expand the part portfolio in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Adhere to company procedures and uphold corporate governance standards consistently.
  • Organize and prioritize workload based on business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier order books, ensuring purchase orders are updated and deliveries are timely.
  • Expedite orders as necessary to meet urgent business demands.
  • Understand and analyze value for money, with a focus on profit and loss.
  • Utilize MRP systems to conduct demand analysis and maintain optimal stock levels for profitable operations.
  • Create purchase orders based on MRP demand forecasts.
  • Input and manage supplier quotations in the MRP system.
  • Identify competitive advantages for the organization through market research.
  • Conduct supplier research to uncover risks, opportunities, and market trends.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, providing recommendations as needed.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Background in general office administration.
  • Background in Aerospace-Must have
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams is advantageous.
  • Comfortable in a data-driven environment, with strong skills in spreadsheet manipulation and attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the procurement function within a business context.
  • Aircraft Fastener Experience is considered an asset

Qualifications:

  • Equivalent qualifications with a focus on Mathematics and English.
  • Willingness to pursue professional accreditation.

Personal Characteristics:

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enabling them to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organization. They should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams across different locations, adopting a methodical approach with excellent prioritization skills.

  • The candidate must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing them to multitask and manage various responsibilities simultaneously.
  • A keen attention to detail, particularly in analyzing data nuances, is essential, along with proficient time management abilities.
  • They should also be open to collaboration across different time zones and comfortable seeking feedback and asking questions for personal growth.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is crucial for success in this role.
