The ideal candidate will be responsible for the execution of buying activities in support of the manufacture of all products related to a specific Integrated Product Team (IPT). In addition, the ideal candidate will also maintain inventory levels and ensure our suppliers have the capability and the capacity to support the material and delivery requirements in alignment with the IPTs business needs. They must also have the ability to communicate risk internally to all Stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Procure all materials required to manufacture products from the right supplier, at the right price, to maximize profitability, following established purchasing policies and procedures.

* Support bid requests, Issue RFQs, negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs.

* Resolve discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, quality, receiving and accounts payable; monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed.

* Work with the commodity team to ensure that supplier communication and related KPI metrics are in support of the IPTs needs; Participate in performance management meetings.

* Work with Engineering to identify alternatives supporting production requirements while optimizing cost & inventory reductions, process Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as required.

* Conducts inactive, obsolete, and surplus analysis on all parts and drives root cause, corrective action and disposition strategy.

* Contributes to continuing improvement efforts across all facets of supply chain.

* Train and mentor as needed buyers on Oracle functionality, assist with determining and maintaining levels of inventory to meet organizational metrics.

**Minimum Qualifications and Experience**

* Bachelors Degree and at least 3+ years experience in materials management or purchasing

* Solid understanding of materials management methodologies ? Working knowledge of MRP, purchasing, work in process, and inventory modules of Oracle ERP system

* Working knowledge of systems and procedures as it pertains to the materials management function and Purchasing Standard work.

* Skills: Personal computing, organizational, analytical, communication, negotiating, leadership, inventory management tools including Kanban, LTAs, AMPAs, Performance Management, SIOP process

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Professional certification (APICS, CPM)

* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

* Experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

* Knowledge of products and customer base
