Are you ready to take your purchasing/procurement skills to the next level? Look no further! Remedy is ecstatic to have been selected to partner with a leading manufacturer in the Southtowns as the embark on a critical search for a Buyer. This Buyer will be responsible for the planning and procurement of raw materials, purchased components, and outside services to support production. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and works closely with Sales, Production Control, Inventory, Quality and Engineering to contribute to their overall operations and ongoing success. Hours: Days

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually, depending upon prior expertise/experience

As their Buyer, here are your primary job duties:

  • Collaborates with various departments/leaders, supporting production needs and addressing quality, delivery, or price concerns.
  • Negotiates pricing, terms, and conditions of purchasing contracts.
  • Creates, sends, reviews and reconciles Purchase Orders and invoices.
  • Investigates and resolves the expediting of parts for quality or delivery concerns.
  • Reviews and analyzes material consumption and forecasts to advise on inventory and EOQ levels
  • Creates and reports purchasing metrics.
  • Assists in the research, development, qualification and performance evaluation of suppliers and supply chain partners.
  • Communicates with suppliers to manage the supply chain within their capacity and lead times.

We're looking for Buyers with the following background profile:

  • Associate's degree in Business or related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years direct experience in a manufacturing Purchasing is REQUIRED. Bachelors degree is preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, a minimum of 5 years direct experience in a manufacturing purchasing capacity is required.
  • Certification in APICS, Purchasing or Supply Chain is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office and ERP/MRP software systems.
  • Proficient in finance and mathematics, Bills-of-Material and basic engineering drawing reading.
  • Knowledge of and working familiarity with steel and alloy materials.
  • Contract Review and financial negotiation knowledge.
  • Expertise in supplier evaluation and qualification.
  • Bilingual a huge plus!
