WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Conduct MRP and create purchase orders based on MRP results
- Maintain purchasing related item attributes in SAP
- Ensure on time delivery of materials to support manufacturing operations/customer orders
- Coordinate inbound transportation (domestic/international) for vendor supplied materials
- Support manufacturing operations by providing the right material at the right time
- Identify cost savings opportunities
- Identify alternate sources of supply
- Identify waste and seek opportunities for cost reduction across the supply chain (examples optimize freight or order size)
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering to source and explore alternate materials/methods
- Work in a customer-centric manner
- Represent the company positively in all supplier interactions
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- College degree required (Business, Finance, or related preferred)
- Experience coordinating international transportation (ocean/air) required
- 2+ years of related experience preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred
