Job Description:

The ARM GROUP is looking for Buyer for one of our clients in Barnwell, SC.

Type: Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt)

Travel: Up to 10%

Industry preference: Manufacturing

Role:

As a Buyer, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with various departments and suppliers to ensure our production lines run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase raw and packaging materials needed for production.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices, delivery times, and quality.
  • Analyze and research new vendors to ensure we're working with the best in the industry.
  • Manage purchasing grids and monitor key market trends, ensuring our materials are both cost-effective and high quality.
  • Collaborate closely with planning, production, warehousing, and maintenance teams to meet production goals.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and support new product trials, contributing directly to the company's success.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in purchasing or a related field, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and cost optimization.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. (Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required; SAP experience is a big plus.
  • Certifications: ASCM certification or progress toward certification is an advantage.

Work Environment:

  • This role operates in a dynamic manufacturing setting, where you'll occasionally encounter loud noise, moving machinery, and temperature extremes.
  • Physical requirements include walking the plant, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting.
