Job Summary:

We have partnered with a prominent manufacturer in the Savannah, GA who is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and supplies essential for production. The Buyer will collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipment.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Establish long-term relationships with key vendors to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Place and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to anticipate needs.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure materials meet company standards.
  • Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
  • Analyze spending and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports and metrics to management.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to align procurement strategies with manufacturing goals.
  • Participate in product development meetings to provide input on material availability and sourcing options.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
