This position performs all aspects of purchasing and maintains appropriate stock levels at distribution services across the organization.This position is based at our corporate office which is centrally located at Rocky Point, overlooking the waters of Tampa Bay. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all facets of the purchasing process including: supplier qualification, defining product specifications, negotiation of price and service requirements, contracting with appropriate terms and conditions, issuing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, tracking inbound shipments, expediting shipments as needed, authorizing payment, and addressing supplier performance
  • Serve as key subject matter expert for assigned product lines to include monitoring price movement, analyzing supplier trends, and communicating forecasts or predictions
  • Review and organize system-generated RFP's to remain current with any back-log or A-priority inventory items
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate transfers as needed to minimize stock-outs
  • Expedite or change orders to solve pressing business or customer needs
  • Monitor supplier performance against contract terms and conditions
  • Proactively communicates emerging or current issues to Sales or Operations and works to collaboratively solve any issue that could impact delivery performance
  • Maintains and updates files, master data, and purchase orders; review inquiries related to PO/Invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable
  • Prepare, issue, receive, analyze and maintain bid packages; tracks and routinely reports performance
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Purchasing
  • Experience with Logistics, lnventory Management, and Distribution preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with ERP and inventory control systems
  • Ability to critically think and make fact-based decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to be able to engage confidently with key stakeholders at all levels across the organization
  • Prompt responsiveness and a service mentality
