This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a dynamic, team-driven environment. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of commodities, supplies, and services for a variety of operational needs. Your core tasks will include preparing and processing purchase orders, ensuring competitive pricing, and negotiating with vendors to secure the best value for the organization. You'll also work closely with internal departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to address material needs and manage inventory levels effectively, ensuring reliable supply chains and meeting Just-In-Time (JIT) goals.In this role, you will take the lead on several key purchasing functions, including managing vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, managing emergency material and service requirements, and negotiating agreements with suppliers. You will also serve as a backup for other supply chain roles, ensuring continuity of operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help drive cost-saving strategies, analyze supplier performance, and ensure all procurement activities align with the company's standards and objectives. Your contributions will support continuous improvement efforts aimed at maintaining a competitive edge in the market.Veterans with strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills will thrive in this position. Your expertise in procurement and inventory management will play a vital role in achieving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.The ideal candidate will have a background in supply chain management, inventory control, or a related field, and experience working in manufacturing environments. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or supply chain management is preferred, but equivalent work experience is also valued. You should be comfortable using technology and software tools such as MS Office, Excel, and computerized maintenance management systems.Strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a results-driven mindset, will enable you to excel in this role and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
