Job Title: Buyer (Global Supply Management)Location: 100% Onsite - Fairport, NYSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PMDuration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.
Role PurposeThe Buyer is responsible for ensuring a steady supply of materials, equipment, and services while adhering to organizational objectives. This includes negotiating competitive costs, managing inventory efficiently, and maintaining high supplier performance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement and Supplier Management- Deploys Global Supply Management (GSM) strategies to align with organizational objectives.
- Contributes to and updates Contribution Metrics linked with cost reduction portfolios.
- Negotiates with suppliers, including drafting and managing contracts.
- Leads supplier relationship management and audits to ensure performance and compliance.
- Maintains critical contractual documents (e.g., Supply Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements).
Operational Support- Oversees inventory management, reducing slow-moving or obsolete materials.
- Serves as a liaison between plants, ensuring quality and materials alignment.
- Addresses and resolves invoicing issues as the primary contact for RTP.
- Participates in cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce costs, and resolve supply chain issues.
Compliance and Process Improvement- Ensures compliance with internal/external audit requirements and GSM policies.
- Protects Intellectual Property (IP) and champions environmental compliance, including proper scrap disposal.
- Advocates for and ensures adherence to the Global Buying Policy.
Performance Metrics- Supplier quality and performance metrics.
- Contribution Metrics and e-sourcing events.

QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's Degree (Technical field preferred but not required).
Preferred- Experience as a plant or corporate buyer.
- Proficiency in SAP and GSM processes/systems.
- Manufacturing experience in operations, planning, quality, or supply chain.
- Certification in Yellow or Green Belt or supply chain management (e.g., C.P.M., CPSM, APICS).
- Experience working in matrix environments or cross-functional teams
