This individual will also purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies from various suppliers. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as well as in teams. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
  • Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage desired inventory levels to support operations through monitoring and maintaining part lead times, minimum order quantities and reacting to order action messages.
  • Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.
  • Ensure sufficient material coverage with preferred supply base, as needed, quote and negotiate spot buys with secondary sources.
  • Develops & manages supply base performance through use of supplier selection, corrective actions, audits, and other feedback systems.
  • Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, invoice discrepancies, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
  • Assist with inventory impact assessments of part revision/changes and End of Life product.
  • Review and follow-up on late supplier shipments.
  • Delivers continuous improvement through participation in lean kaizen events.
Required Qualifications
  • High-school graduate/GED
  • Preferred Two-year degree or Technical Certificate or related experience (3-5 years)
  • Leadership Training
Desired Qualifications
  • Develops relationships and provides effective communication, prioritization, and alignment across value streams, sites, business units, and functions.
  • Demonstrates capability for engaging with external business partners to provide seamless linkage of supply chain processes.
  • Demonstrates capabilities in material management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), pull systems, flow, and the implementation of lean concepts.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. Possess exceptional conflict resolution skills and is adept at dealing with situations involving conflict.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with very minimal direction.
