Summary:
The Buyer will be supporting various procurement activities, including timely sourcing of high-quality materials and components while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting production schedules, supplier relationships, and the overall success of our supply chain.
Ideal candidate will have: recently graduated with Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration and is eager to start their career in the medical device industry
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Sourcing:
- Source and procure materials, components, and services required for medical device manufacturing.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed to meet quality and delivery standards.
Supplier Management:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply and resolve any issues promptly.
- Conduct supplier re-evaluations and performance reviews.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with ISO 13485, FDA, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier certifications.
- Collaborate with the quality team to address supplier non-conformances or deviations.
Risk and Cost Management:
- Assess risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions.
- Optimize purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with all functions, including Finance, R&D, Quality, and Engineering, to ensure high level of performance and strong customer service.Participate in new product development to source components and services.Project Management:
Attend project meetings to represent procurement and enforce procurement processesComplete risk mitigation projects for assigned product categoriesQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Purchasing or procurement internship experience, preferably in the medical device or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and supplier quality standards is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- AS400 experience a plus
- Ability to analyze data, forecast demand, and manage supplier performance effectively.
