Job DescriptionIf you are a Buyer/Planner looking for an exciting opportunity to grow and develop professionally? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our manufacturing facility in Stephenville, TX, and reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all stages of production orders from procurement of raw material through WIP and Finished Goods production. In addition to these specified tasks, you will also assist production supervisors in meeting customer expectations. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Plan and create purchase orders as needed to fill production shop orders. Monitor open purchase orders for on time deliveries by communicating with suppliers as necessary. Investigate new sources and send out quotes to obtain the most cost-efficient materials.
  • Monitor, investigate, and notify production supervisors of work order variance reporting quantities or requests for shop packet increases. Check lower and higher bill of material levels before making inventory adjustments.
  • Run and monitor the negative on-hand inventory report weekly. Investigate any suspect quantities to determine the cause of incorrect on hands. Complete transfers transactions to correct negative location problems.
  • Create/manage work orders as needed to support inventory availability expectations in the Distribution Center.
  • Review material supply and release discrete jobs in accordance with master schedule.
  • Responsible for respective new item creations/workflows by updating organization parameters.
  • Act as a liaison between customer service and manufacturing
  • Works with production to ensure WIP items are scheduled to meet master schedule.
  • Establish long-term relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure consistent quality and cost savings.

You accurately complete assignments when working with peers, supervisors, and customers to accomplish Company objectives identify the impacts or consequences of situations and escalate to the appropriate channels. You accept responsibility and cooperates in carrying out instructions. You maintain confidentiality and privileged information. You quickly and accurately answer customer's requests. For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related planning experience.
  • Experience operating a computerized master scheduling system, such as Oracle ERP or similar.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to various departments.
  • Proficient P/C skills, the ability to interpret computer reports, have good business intelligence (analysis) skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available for this position).
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • APICIS Certification or affiliation.
  • A minimum of 3 years job related manufacturing experience.
  • Previous Oracle or SAP experience.
