Schwab Wealth and Asset Management Engineering (WAM Engineering) is part of the Schwab Technology Services (STS) organization which is responsible for the company's use of information technology including all telecommunications, operations and client and business applications.

WAM Engineering is aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM) which is the investment advisor for Schwab's proprietary mutual funds, referred to as the Schwab Funds; and it includes Schwab's exchange-traded funds, referred to as the Schwab ETFs™. With over $370bn in assets under management, SAMS is the 3rd largest provider of index funds and the 7th largest provider of money market funds.

This role's responsibilities will include hands-on development, participation in architectural designs and work with junior developers in the team.

The role entails full Agile and DevOps model in partnership of SAMS business—actively working with Product Owners, End-Users, Partners—in active participation in requirements, design, coding, testing (unit and functional), deployment and post-release support.

This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced business focused technology individual with a proven record of software delivery to a front office investment management business.

What you have

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related degree, OR related practical experience

4+ years of hands-on expert level development skills in .Net framework and optionally 2+ years of Angular front-end experience

- PCF or Google or Azure cloud experience

- Developer experience in Informatica, SSIS and other ETL technologies

- Responsible for the planning, design and build of microservices architectures to support in house platforms.

- Institute processes and quality toll gates to improve the supportability, scalability and performance of in-house platforms.

- Participate and contribute to technology architecture designs to future proof platform and reduce technical debts.

- Knowledge of software design patterns and ability to apply then to the right use case scenarios.

- Broad and deep knowledge of IT/software technology & trends, domain knowledge and experience in infrastructure support, application development, and database admin. including client/server, web services, portal, middleware, operating systems, databases, networking, security & business intelligence.

- An agile champion with good understanding of CI/CD. Experience with GitHub or Atlassian suite of products & Jira is preferred.

- Train and work with new developers in the team to bring up their productivity level.

- Experience with TDD & BDD is a plus.

- 2+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry. Optional - Good to have exposure of Multi-Asset portfolio management and trading processing including optionally Separately managed business workflows.
