Additional two years of experience in a critical care or cardiac inpatient unit is preferred. Experience with telemetry monitoring is also preferred. License: Current Registered Nurse license in California Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification Must-Have: BSN degree is highly preferred Job Description: - Collaborates in a team environment to coordinate patient care in the Cardiology Clinic, including assessment, problem identification, planning, reporting of complex clinical data, and implementation of the patient's care plan as directed by the provider. - Provides pre- and post-operative education for Cardiology and Electrophysiology (EP) procedures. - Educates patients about their cardiovascular condition and explains treatment options as guided by the cardiologist or electrophysiologist. - Teaches patients preventative measures to avoid worsening of cardiovascular conditions, the importance of self-monitoring, and provides appropriate resources. - Triages patients' physical symptoms and arrhythmias appropriately, consulting with cardiologists or electrophysiologists as per protocol. - Covers RN Testing Center and Cardiac PET CT Imaging procedures as needed. - Participates in Transition of Care Management to ensure discharge medications and instructions are understood by patients and/or family members. - Updates medication and problem lists in the Electronic Health Record and ensures follow-up with cardiologists. - Reviews daily lab/test results, physician tasks, and clinical worklists as assigned. - Assists the Nurse Supervisor and/or Director with matters relating to nursing practices and participates in developing policies and protocols for patient care. - Initiates and maintains personal professional development required for continuing education. - Maintains patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations. - Fulfills all duties while adhering to health and safety requirements, including necessary immunizations. - Other duties as assigned.
