Overview:

Abacus Technology is seeking a Cable Locator to mark and document property lines for Robins AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints to determine where construction projectswill take place.
• Use magnetic, radar and electrical equipment to locate lines.
• Utilize GPS or surveying equipment to pinpoint coordinates of lines.
• Perform calculations to arrive at the depth of lines.
• Prepare diagrams and sketches that show the location of lines.
• Compile gathered data and prepared images into professional reports.
• Inspect areas following the completion of renovations or new construction to check utility lines.
• Participate in planning or inspection meetings to present findings.

Qualifications:

2+ years experience in cable location and surveying. HS diploma or GED. Familiar with technical equipment used for cable location. Able to conduct the necessary calculations to accurately locate buried lines. Able to operate drafting, map-making, and geographic information software. Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding the placement of utility lines. Experience interpreting data. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to operate in a customer focused and professional manner that ensures the services are proficient and provided courteously. Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance.
