Job DescriptionTitle: CAD Designer
Reports to: Senior Manager of CAD Engineering
OverviewThis CAD Designer must have experience and knowledge creating jewelry pieces of basic/intermediate difficulty levels in Rhino. Responsible for execution of designs as well as ensuring the functional and aesthetic objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Create basic pieces from start to finish with limited supervision. Become knowledgeable of processes and aesthetics that are more evolved than junior CAD levels.
- Create more complex projects and forms with clear direction and supervision.
- Create various stone setting techniques in CAD with supervision.
- Provide input on timelines to completion; translate design concept into a physical piece within established project time frame.
- Work collaboratively with more senior level CAD Designers on technical aspects of each project.
- Work collaboratively with more senior level CAD Designers to review Vendor CAD files for technical viability and provide concise technical feedback to strategic partners.
Qualifications- Minimum 3-5 years of CAD experience specific to jewelry.
- Must have knowledge of intermediate jewelry construction as well as precious metal properties.
- Must be proficient in creating solid, workable polysurface files.
- Must have working knowledge of mechanisms such as hinges and clasps.
- Experience with rapid prototyping machines are a plus.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Rhino CAD software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Standard office equipment.
- Experience with 3-D Coat or comparable sculpting software is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret design rendering and engineering documents.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
EducationFour year BA or BS degree in Design with an emphasis in 3-D Jewelry Design preferred or the equivalent in Jewelry Industry work experience.

Estimate Salary Range: $95,000-110,000Base pay is one component of David Yurman's total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
