Job Description:

**Overview**

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Austin North, Texas, (TX)!

**Responsibilities**

+ The candidate will develop concepts as well as work on preliminary engineering and final design for projects

+ This would include developing geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading design, drainage, superelevation, construction details, work zone traffic control, erosion control, and signing and striping plans

+ This person will develop technical drawings and plans using Microstation and OpenRoads

+ Manage support documentation for sheet indexes, quantity tables, and cost estimates

+ Manage TxDOT CAD standards

+ Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations

+ Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes

+ Maintain good file management per Kimley-Horn's file structure and naming conventions

+ Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control

**Qualifications**

+ High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)

+ 3+ years of relevant experience

+ Knowledge and proficiency in Bentley products (including Microstation, OpenRoads, GeoPak, and ProjectWise) preferred

+ Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter

+ Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn

+ Ability to work independently and with a team
