Overview:

CAD Technicians will be assigned to work with an experienced engineers and will be put in a position to draw from the experience of other experienced RoviSys CAD technicians. Individual responsibilities will be designated by the lead engineer based on the specific requirements of each project and the individuals capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Technical Skills

  • Create/edit panel layout, power distribution, and I/O connection drawings in addition to associated bill of materials
  • Investigate technical documentation for hardware application in system design/drawings
  • Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosures
  • Self-checking of all work for accuracy
  • Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians
  • Inspect completed control enclosures

Electrical Design and Configuration

  • Review of electrical design and build
  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Works with Engineering team on electrical initiatives needed for the project Field Verification of Drawings (as required)
  • Participate in point to-point-loop checks for all instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot installation discrepancies
  • Support customer testing
  • Field verification of all drawings types listed above

Travel

  • Travel may be required as a part of this position in order to complete the following
    • Control panel quality checks and testing at panel shop or customer facility
    • Point-to-point checks to verify field wiring matches drawings.
    • Discrepancies noted and revisions made to as-installed drawing sets
    • Assist in the startup of control panels and associated electrical equipment(VFDs, motor starters, etc.)
Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of electrical circuitry, NFPA, NEC, and/or IEC codes
  • Knowledge of latest AutoCAD or SolidWorks software programs
  • Ability to recognize and offer suggestions for continued improvement within the CAD Team for efficiency and accuracy
  • Associate Degree, trade school degree or equivalent experience
