Viaero Fiber Networks, a subsidiary of Viaero Wireless Technologies, is seeking an individual with proven experience as a CAD Technician. Viaero delivers fiber optic telecommunication infrastructure solutions to our internal wireless network as well as other carrier utilities, local and state government agencies, and the commercial industry. This employee will perform civil OSP field engineering, project review, design and AutoCAD work requiring technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables to Jurisdictional permitting agencies. The person in this position will work onsite within our Fiber Networks office located in Grand Island, Nebraska.Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for fielding/drafting/design of wireline (ISP/OSP fiber) projects
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Cad management packages
- Able to travel and field the planned or existing network routes with a GPS device when needed
- Develop or modify deliverables based on GIS design, right-of-way data research, field gathered information, rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions
- Develop necessary layouts/views, sections and details
- Learn and understand the standards and procedures of the current project
- Perform minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc. as assigned.
- Learn new programs or processes required for assignments
- Continuously evaluates methods used to accomplish the activities they have been assigned
- Ensures that the deliverables and tasks are complete and meet QA requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 or more years performing drafting work using AutoCAD
- Able to work outside as needed
- Some overnight travel may be required
- Work location is in office - Fort Morgan Colorado
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment requirements: background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate preferred
- Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design
- Working knowledge of the Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) program, AutoCAD is required
- Knowledge in (GIS, 3GIS, Visio and Civil 3D) is preferred, but not required
The anticipated pay for this position has a range of $24 to $27 hourly The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and industry experience.
