Job Description:

As a CAD Technician, you will work closely with our engineering team, create and revise technical drawings, ranging from simple machined parts to complex fabrications and assemblies with bills of materials. Must be a detailed oriented team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Thoroughness and clear, organized work habits are essential. May also be asked to review the work of others for accuracy and completeness. Flexible hybrid work schedule with excellent growth potential.

What you will do:

  • Utilize both 2D and 3D CAD, as well as our business system to generate design concepts, detail part and assembly drawings, bills of material and schematics.
  • Assist with checking detail drawings to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  • Research and coordinate the implementation of Engineering Change Orders.
  • Coordinate interaction with suppliers on component specifications and selection.
  • Assist in testing of design concepts as necessary to validate the design.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

A minimum of a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) with relevant experience, or an A.S. Degree in Mechanical Technology. Willing to train the right candidate.

  • Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), standard design conventions, and machine design.
  • Knowledge of structures, materials, joining, rotating equipment and hydraulic systems.
  • A working knowledge of manufacturing methods and process capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Interact effectively with personnel from other departments within Hazelett, customers, and suppliers.
  • Must be a detailed oriented team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Thoroughness and clear, organized work habits are essential. May also be asked to review the work of others for accuracy and completeness.
