Cafe Associate

JLA seeks a Cafe Associate to manage our on-site cafe and break rooms, and to assist with lunch service. This is an in-person position from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

The position includes, but is not limited to these primary areas of responsibility:

  • Operation of POS system (update menu items and prices, closeout days, etc)
  • Stocking and setting up the cafe and break room stations
  • Inventory of cafe and break room items
  • Cleaning and maintaining the ice cream machines, and coffee machines.
  • Preparing food including popcorn, hot pretzels, and other cafe items.
  • Working with Chef to ensure that orders are placed for inventory items.
  • Washing and cleaning the cafe utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensuring that the cafe operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Minimize food and supply waste
  • Assist in maintaining the cafe and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations
  • Maintains the highest professional food quality and sanitation standard
  • Assist with lunch service

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completion of vocational school or a two-year associate degree
  • At least one year of cashier experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • ServSafe Certification (preferred)
