Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Caf Cashier
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) cashier system to check out caf customers
- Ring up caf customers sales, taking payments by cash, credit/debit card, gift card or employee payroll deduction
- Issue gift cards
- Make correct change
- Assist caf customers
- Process customers at check out in an efficient manner (as quickly as possible, but with courtesy)
- Help navigate the customers in caf, assist them in locating items and answer questions to promote a positive experience in our facility
- Keep caf well stocked
- Stock caf food and supplies as needed
- Complete grab & go stock order forms for the cooks to prepare
- Change out boxes and tanks on soda machine as they run out, as well as other food dispensing equipment such as the hot cocoa machine
- Rotate all food items using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method
- Make sure all grab and go items have a use by date, and that all items are pulled by that date
- Keep condiments stocks
- Keep disposable products such as napkins, straws and to-go-boxes stocked
- Keep food items in dining room vending machines well stocked
- Keep the caf area maintained and cleaned
- Throughout the day wipe up spills and pick up trash left behind
- Regularly wipe down and tidy up the salad and soup bar
- At the end of the day, caf and dining room areas will be thoroughly cleaned according to department procedures, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc
- Complete deep cleaning tasks as assigned
- Prepare nightly deposits at the end of business each day according to hospital and department policy and procedures.
- Count till
- Complete a daily deposit report
- Prepare deposit slip
- Give prepared deposit to the Caf Service Coordinator or the Lead on duty
- IF FUNCTIONING AS THE CAF LEAD:
- Keep the caf menu boards updated and current
- Updating the caf POS registers as needed
- Forward intra-department charges for items removed from the caf or kitchen for use in other hospital departments or provider meals to the Patient Nutrition Coordinator for billing
- Provide deposit to courier for deposit or lock deposit in safe
- Prepare Vending Machine Deposit Report and make deposits as outlined in department policies and procedures
