Role ResponsibilitiesTexana Caf seeks a Caf Coordinator who has an appetite for a career in culinary work while supporting a great mission. The Caf Coordinator works as part of restaurant team with daily supervision from a manager. The Caf Coordinator provides hospitality services to customers dining in the restaurant. This includes providing exceptional customer service, preparing food, serving food, packaging food, completing cleaning routines, and assisting customers with the purchase of retail items. The Caf Coordinator will assist managers in training Caf Interns on essential duties related to food preparation, food serving and retail sales as well as training in accepting and responding to feedback from supervisors. Caf Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of a wide variety of cafe food items such as coffee, sandwiches, and salads and prepare a variety of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, and candies following recipes. The Caf Coordinator will also assist in serving customers, packaging orders, and completing cleaning protocols. Eight hour shifts take place during the hours of 7:00am and 4:30pm on a Tuesday to Saturday schedule.Key responsibilities include:
- Train and supervise Caf Interns on essential job duties.
- Adhere to health and safety standards (training provided)
- Maintain an orderly cooking station
- Create meals and desserts
- Decorate baked goods
- Monitor stocks for ingredients such as bread, cheese, flour, sugar etc.
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices
- Complete cleaning protocols in assigned areas to maintain a clean kitchen and caf.
Salary
- $15.84/hour starting
- $16.72/hour after 6 months
- $17.60/hour after one year
Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- One year working in the food industry, retail, or hospitality industry.
Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills
- Baking, restaurant experience, casual dining experience, or culinary class experience: (Preferred but NOT required)
- Experience working with individuals with special needs
- Holder or previous holder of Food Handler Certification
