Qualities needed to thrive in this role:
- Relationships- the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and key school stakeholders across the school
- Knowledge- a working knowledge of the school climate, facilities, staff, systems, policies and operations of PCA
- Dedication- a desire to aid all personnel and families in successfully enhancing the culture, educational capacity, and operations of PCA through the work of the kitchen
- Community- Maintain relationships with vendors, families, and staff
Major Responsibilities Include: Under the supervision of the Cafe Manager, the Café Worker will:
Complete food preparation following applicable state and federal laws Receiving and organizing deliveries to the café Serve students breakfast and lunch Interact with students as they drop off their trays Adequately and efficiently rinse and sanitize all trays and kitchen equipment Assist in cleaning and preparing café for each incoming grade Essential Qualifications and Skills: Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills Ability to:
Stand up to six (6) hours Lift 50 pounds Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff, students, and families Understand and implement protocols, procedures, and policies Knife skills Be a team player Compensation: This positon will require approximately 29 hours a week from 8:15 - 2:00 p.m. for 10 months and follows the students' school calendar. Notes: A criminal background check is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate during the interview process an understanding of diversity, educational equity and multicultural education.
