What Will You Do?

Job Purpose Statement

To assist in the preparation of two scheduled meals daily and adhere to all procedures and Company policies.

Job Functions

  • Follow the“Daily Menu” and recipes created by the Cafeteria Menu Team.
  • Assist with overall food preparation, quality and delivery of freshly prepared menu items on day of service.
  • Maintain portion control standards for all menu items and internal company caterings.
  • Be adaptable and able to implement changes in the menu if instructed to do so.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe and clean kitchen area at all times including the proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain proper code dating and inventory rotation for all ingredients.
  • Alert General Manager when supplies have dwindled to less than 75% for replenishment.
  • Must pass ServSafe certification and actively follow all ServSafe standards.
  • Able to perform, when needed, all physical functions within the cafeteria. This includes both frequently performed activities such as the preparation, cooking and serving food; cleaning dishes, utensils and other equipment; and restocking food and supplies.
  • Able to perform frequent lifting activities of generally up to 20 lbs. Occasional activities involving lifting up to 30 lbs. may be expected and on rare occasions may be required to unload bulk food items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk on a continuous basis in the performance of this job. General working hours are from 6 am to 3 pm with a lunch and breakfast break of 30 minutes each, and 2 additional 15 minute breaks (7.5 hours standing/walking each day).
  • Consistently exhibit the actions/behaviors which best demonstrate BNE's Vision and Values; perform other tasks as directed by management; and at all times represent Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. as a professional in every aspect of performance.

Job Requirements

  • 1 + year(s) of cooking experience
  • 1 + year(s) of customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knife handling skills
  • Ability to successfully complete Serve Safe
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of a wide array of food ingredients
