Job Description:
Summary:The Calendar Clerk is responsible for the general handling, assigning, and calendaring of cases for the legal department of NAICA. In addition, the Calendar Clerk is responsible for updating and maintaining the Legal server court calendar.Job Duties/Responsibilities:The Calendar Clerk is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
  • Completing all assigned docketing and calendaring work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reviewing litigation documents for relevant dates, including court appearances and deadlines, and effectively using the docketing and calendaring system to enter applicable dates.
  • Collecting, maintaining and updating needed information on attorneys, such as bar admissions and e-filing passwords.
  • Contributing to knowledge management-related initiatives as they pertain to litigation case files, docketing, records management and other similar areas of function within the litigation practice group.
  • Assisting with electronic case filing, as well as courthouse hard copy filings and document retrieval.
  • Assisting with searching and extracting information from court-related databases, websites and relevant docketing and calendaring applications.
  • Communicating with staff attorneys and supervising attorneys on calendar related issues.
  • Complying with NAICA's administrative procedures and policies.
  • Running reports.
  • Other related responsibilities as needed.
Skills, Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. Prior experience in a law firm is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs. Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Works well under pressure. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.GENERAL:
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and in-service trainings;
  • Time management and prioritization;
  • Interacting with other departmental staff;
  • Perform general clerical duties;
  • Develop and maintain good communication with other programs and units within the organization to facilitate inter-agency referrals;
  • Provide coverage for other areas as directed/needed;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
