Calendar Clerk ParalegalOur legal team is committed to providing each client with quality counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized service. Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 100-plus attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice.We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm looking to add a paralegal to assist and support our Insurance Defense Group in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Motion, Arbitration, and EBT calendars.
  • Draft legal documents including summonses, complaints, notices of inquest, notices of discontinuance, discovery demands, and responses, as well as notices of trial.
  • Conduct DMV record searches and manage process service.
  • Handle court document filings, including e-filing in both state and civil courts, and ensure accurate updates to the firm's case management system.
  • Track court dates and deadlines across multiple attorneys and pending actions.
  • Schedule and confirm depositions, EUOs, and arrangements for court reporters and translators with staff, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Coordinate client attendance at hearings, doctor's appointments, and exams.
  • Prepare and distribute bi-weekly calendar reports to attorneys.
  • Stay informed of changes in local court and individual judge's rules.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing a high volume of cases.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and polished demeanor.
  • Proficiency in legal terminology and documents, including bills of particulars, orders, discovery motions, and responses.
  • Solid computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with Centerbase is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Understanding of Commercial and Personal Lines Auto Property Damage Claims processes and regulations.
  • Proactive, anticipatory, and solution oriented.
Additional Information:
  • Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000
