As a Calibration Tech/FSE this company is looking for someone with effective communication skills who can provide an elevated level of customer satisfaction and superior service and support for the installation, calibration, training in the usage of, and repair of calibration machines. They need a calibration technician who can use their technical scientific expertise, independent discretion and judgment to develop and implement the design and performance of machines and Testing protocols at specific client locations. You will aid client formulation of required Test methods to conform with their products, manufacturing processes and market needs for possible use of machine capabilities. You will design, implement, evaluate and adapt Test methods to be conducted by these calibration machines to comply with International Standards and customer needs and requests and you will install, calibrate and evaluate these machines to perform designed Test methods. They need someone who can evaluate and re-design Test methods and machines which conduct tests to achieve reliable and required testing results and identify environmental and process causes for any machine testing failures and design and develop with client solutions including repair of machines, redesign of testing methods and interfaces of machines with tested product or energy and support facilities to avoid testing failures or interruptions or to increase reliability of testing results, to include, machine and application software, electronics, digital and analog, high-precision electro-mechanical components, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, material science. You will also need to show you can efficiently manage your own time, scheduling and travel needs for the service, calibrations, repairs, installations and upgrades of all Company machines located in an assigned geographic territory. When requested, accomplishes assignments located outside of assigned geography as there can be anywhere from 50-70% travel (more travel with West Coast role). You will need to learn to troubleshoot and repair machines in a timely manner and take ownership of issue, and by using independent discretion and judgment drives to a quick and complete solution, minimizing call-backs by staying with and solving the problem on the first visit. You will also need to perform successful installation of new machines and upgrades in a time frame that meets customer expectations and develop and design test programs to meet customer and ASTM or ISO requirements.They need someone who builds long-term successful relationships with key users, decision-makers and influencers at customers. You will also provide an elevated level of customer training in the operation of calibration machines. These are Field Service roles that get a company provided vehicle, but you must live close to a major airport as there is a good amount of air travel as well. The position is 50-70% overnight travel.While they are looking for experienced calibration techs they will train you, mostly in the field on their equipment.$24/hr + overtime, more for FSE experienced Calibration Techs.
