We have an outstanding career opportunity for aCalibration Technicianto join a leading Company located in theLancaster, NYsurrounding area.Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000The calibration technician is responsible for calibrating equipment, as well as maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting basic instrumentation both for the calibration laboratory and production lines. The primary focus of the calibration technician is to ensure that all instrumentation, gauges, and testing devices/equipment are calibrated correctly, on-time, and maintain NIST traceability. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.Responsibilities :Must be capable of developing calibration testing procedures, in cooperation with the requesting engineer, for each piece of equipment based on technical specifications and end-useMeasurement errors must be quickly identified and correctedInstruments that require inspection and repair may be of an acoustical, chemical, electrical, fluid, mechanical, optical, or thermodynamic natureCompile, measure, and record data (as-found & as-left) from each instrument, and maintain the associated calibration databaseAdditional tasks may include training subordinates, ordering replacement parts for faulty equipment, and researching advances in calibration techniquesThis position emphasizes healthy customer relationships, positive teamwork attitudes, and full cooperation with auditorsBasic Hiring Criteria :Associate of Applied Science, Engineering Technologies degree, 2-year vocational or equivalent education/experienceCalibration, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Quality, or Systems EngineeringMinimum 2 to 3 years in industrial calibration experienceProficient with Windows based PC and Microsoft Office SuiteRead, interpret, and understand specifications and schematicsAbility to troubleshootSelf-driven, organized, critical thinker, and high attention to detailAbility to communicate well verbally and through written reports/proceduresUnderstanding of NIST traceabilityDesired Qualifications :Preferred - Calibration Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science or Calibration Technician Certification Program5+ years of industrial calibration experienceUnderstanding of pneumatics (pressure, flow), electrical (DC and AC), and forcesOxygen safety trainingAptitude for math, technical writing, and advanced knowledge of computers (i.e. serial communications, setting up drivers and applications)Benefits offered to vary by the contract.
