Rice Lake Weighing Systems is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team in Concord, CA. The Calibration Technician provides electrical and mechanical service, calibration and adjustment of balance and scale equipment and other instrument/equipment.Job Functions include:Provides electrical and mechanical service calibrations and adjustments of balances, scales, instruments, and equipment at customer's facilities and in the metrology laboratory (Concord, CA). More than 50% out-of-office regional travel is required. Some travel requirements will come with little or no notice to meet customer requirements and for emergency service of customer equipment and instruments.Troubleshoots and maintains products/equipment/instruments. Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed. Ensures equipment and instruments is in good running order.Provides in-house telephone technical assistance for diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and validation services of balances, scales and other instruments/equipment to dealers and customers. Ensures customer's service exceeds customer expectations.Organize and schedule travel to customer locations. Communicate and coordinates with Supervisors and Regional Sales Directors as appropriate. Ensures customer satisfaction goals are archived.Perform in-house repairs and calibrations and warranty service of balances, scales and other instrumentation.Pickup and delivery of customer balances, scales, instruments, equipment, and artifacts throughout the service area.Ensures adequate stock of service parts for new equipment and maintain adequate levels of tools, spare parts, and additional materials required to provide quality customer service.Assists with new product evaluations. Provides feedback into the development process.Assists other departments with technical information, troubleshooting techniques, telephone support, and setting up equipment. Qualifications:Bachelors or Associate's Degree a technical field.Five (5) or more years' experience in weighing equipment, metrology, and calibration field.Two (2) or more years' experience with instrument software.One (1) or more years' travel experience.One (1) or more years' experience with retail scales and NIST Handbook 44 requirements.
