**Description:**

Come join the Food & Nutrition team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to ourcommunities.

**Position Purpose:**

The Call Center Operator assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selection.

**What you will do:**

+ Solves customer problems, treats customer with dignity and respect. Acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs.

+ Process Room Service customer orders, including patient/family-initiated orders and those patients needing assistance.

+ Provides assistance with tray assembly as needed.

+ Perform all work in a safe and sanitary manner. Maintain all workstations in a neat and organized manner.

+ Actively supports and participates in performance improvement activities, including but not limited to tray assessments, meal rounds, hospital/department committees.

**Working Conditions:**

+ This position will be working in the diet office the majority of their shift with periods of time in the kitchen on the patient tray line. Position may also be required to visit patient rooms as necessary to take patient's meal orders. Uses a computer, tablet, phone, and copier.

+ Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours). Must be able to sit for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).

**Minimum Qualifications** **:**

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent

+ Job Knowledge/Experience: Related experience or education demonstrating knowledge of normal and modified diets and the Carbohydrate Counting and Protein Exchange Systems preferred.

+ Previous networked computer experience preferred.

+ Candidate must be able to accurately enter meal orders into computer software, must be able to focus in a busy and fast-paced environment. Must also be flexible in order to cooperate and appropriately respond to changes in workload.
