The Scheduler I role includes the responsibility of creating an internal and external face for Reid Health. They will be responsible for assisting callers with all aspects of healthcare services interface and scheduling including: Hospital departments, Primary and Specialty Care practices.

Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Assists patients, patient's family, visitors, customers, all hospital staff, departments, and off campus Reid Health offices with communication, notification and informational needs in a manner that is always consistent with Reid's C.A.R.E. principals.
  • Collects, verifies, and interprets patient demographic and orders received by referring departments
  • Maintains knowledge of the inner workings of the departments and practices at Reid to ensure timely problem solving that produces better outcomes for our customers (patients)
  • Is proficient using Epic electronic health record for scheduling, management of the work queue and research for each patient needing scheduled
  • Prioritizes scheduling of patients based on the ordered item
  • Works to ensure good relations with all departments
  • Looks for ways to make the process more efficient and effective with the customer (patient) as the center of those decisions.
  • Maintains files, logs, and special instructions for contacting/communicating with staff.
  • Maintains accurate and updated scheduling notes, special procedure notes, and applies this to obtain necessary information to complete scheduling task.
  • Completes timely and effective follow-up on patients to be scheduled/rescheduled.
  • Receives and processes physician orders from their work queue
  • Maintains daily and monthly statistical reports/records as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate and updated scheduling notes, special procedure notes, and applies this to obtain necessary information to complete scheduling task.
Education/Experience:

Education Required: High School Diploma

Experience Required:Minimum of 2 years experience at Reid Health working in departments that interact with the entire system. Or 5 years experience working a scheduling/call center role at another healthcare institution

Experience Preferred:Three to Five years experience at Reid Health working in departments that interact with the entire system.

Schedule Details:Day Shift. 40 hours weekly. Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 p.m. What We Offer:
