Reporting to the OPPEL Director of Program Development and Enrollment, this multifaceted role is essential to supporting admissions, enrollment, program administration, and the overall student experience. The Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in achieving the college's growth goals by coordinating recruitment efforts, managing the website, and fostering a welcoming environment for students.Key Responsibilities: Admissions and Enrollment:
  • Implement marketing and enrollment tactics to attract prospective students.
  • Coordinate recruitment events to showcase OPPEL's offerings.
  • Manage website content in collaboration with the Director of Program Development and Enrollment.
Student Support and Advising:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current students, providing basic advising and resource referrals.
  • Advise students, faculty, and staff on degree requirements.
  • Organize community-building and career services events to enrich the student experience.
Program Administration:
  • Oversee automated forms and petitions, degree audits, and the capstone project submission process in eCommons.
  • Maintain and secure student records with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Monitor student satisfaction and program impact through data reporting and analysis.
Communications and Operations:
  • Update OPPEL's Canvas sites in collaboration with directors and staff.
  • Answer the main phone line, process invoices, order supplies, and manage expense reimbursements.
  • Keep the student lounge organized, stocked, and well-maintained.
Collaboration and Strategic Initiatives:
  • Work closely with colleagues across CALS graduate fields and central administration to ensure alignment with university policies.
  • Provide proactive support to colleagues and help inform strategic program initiatives.
This is a full-time (39hours/week) Contract College position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position follows a 4:1 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement after a period of orientation and training. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Work hours are 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. What You NeedWe are looking for a team member who is customer service oriented, adaptable, and technology proficient. Additionally, you will:
  • Hold an Associate's degree and 4-6 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Have a demonstrated record of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Be familiar with advising systems and processes, such as Salesforce, Canvas and PeopleSoft.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost discretion and integrity, maintaining Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliance.
  • Communicate with tact and diplomacy with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
  • Have experience that demonstrates sound judgment, creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently while supporting team efforts.
  • Have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; must be able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Be resourceful and receptive to new ideas and approaches.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook applications and student record systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce)

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience advising graduate students, including international students.
  • Experience coordinating student events.
  • Familiarity with Cornell systems and processes, including Canvas, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and eCommons student project uploads.
  • Familiarity with online video conferencing, event registration and survey tools

The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position.
