Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Camel Handler to join our Client's team. As a Camel Handler, you will be responsible for the care, welfare, and training of camels in our facility. This role requires a deep understanding of camel behavior, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with animals.
Key Responsibilities - Animal Care: Provide daily care for camels including feeding, grooming, and ensuring their overall health and well-being.
- Habitat Maintenance: Maintain clean and safe living conditions for camels, including regular cleaning of enclosures and ensuring proper sanitation practices.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor camel health closely, identifying and addressing any signs of illness or injury promptly.
- Training: Implement training programs to ensure camels are well-behaved and responsive to commands for interactions.
- Interaction with Visitors: Interact with visitors to educate them about camels, answer questions, and provide engaging experiences.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment used in handling and caring for camels, such as harnesses and saddles.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of camel health, behavior, training progress, and any incidents or treatments administered.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, veterinarians, and trainers to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and the well-being of all animals.
Requirements - Previous experience working with camels or large animals preferred.
- Strong understanding of camel behavior, biology, and nutritional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
