Role: Camera/Image Quality Test Engineer

Location: Bay Area, CA

Job Description:

•Test in the lab and in the field (required short trips to test locations) capturing image quality data sets for camera development.

•Design and conduct objective and subjective lab and field experiments of prototype hardware and software to critically examine image quality, behavior, and performance.

•Analyze experiment results and give feedback to direct feature development (Hardware, ISP, Algorithm design and tuning) with cross functional business partners.

•File bugs, create reports, and presents results on image quality development.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Mechatronics/ computer science or related technical field or relevant work experience.

•5+ years' experience in a test or development role as part of a product development organization which has delivered consumer-oriented products.

•Background in color imaging or visual/perceptual science preferred.

•Experience with Camera Image Quality tools and methods, familiarity with Imatest or similar tools.

•Experience with Camera IQ lab set-up including test charts, Lighting, Light panel, Light boxes.

•Familiarity with types of IQ artifacts (noise, blemishes, color errors, etc.)

•Knowledge in the domain of Camera technology and Optics.

•Understanding of Photography basics.
